Martex participated in the realization of the furnishings for the new campus of the University of Exeter in England. The campus, spread over three floors, is completely detached from the usual idea of a student space and the academic seriousness of many universities; great importance was given to the large and bright meeting places for students made with an important use of color that makes them, at times, playful. The color, in harmony with the Martex philosophy, has been related to the function of the space. Martex’s task was to furnish the classrooms, study rooms and offices, and the Yard and Shi lines were used for the purpose. In the study rooms, Yard desks have white tops and an aluminum structure. For the computer classrooms, Shi was chosen with a white structure and a whitened oak top with a Mandarino screen and a white Galaxy drawer unit. Shi also furnishes the study rooms, even with round tables. Again, bleached oak has been used, leaving the accessories and walls to give color to the environment. For the computer rooms and those dedicated to the study, great attention was paid to the electrification of the workstations. The reception, for containment and storage, has an open Kai bookcase.
